Georgia Right to Life is pleased to announce that Catherine Davis will be leading GRTL in outreach efforts to the African American community. In 2006, Catherine Davis ran for the 4th District Congressional Candidate because she had a desire to impact her community. Now just a few years later, she will have that opportunity by helping GRTL to preserve the legacy of the African American community. In Georgia and America, African Americans have been disproportionately targeted by those who support the practice of abortion. As a result, over 57% of the abortions done in the state are done on black women while they only make up 29% of the population. As the new director of minority outreach for GRTL, Catherine will work to dramatically decrease the number of abortions while educating Georgians about the holocaustic impact this practice has had on the Black community. “Preserving our legacy has become a driving ambition for me,” Catherine noted. “There are some individuals and organizations that have as their mission to eliminate blacks from America. Most of us do not know about these plans and I am working to make sure they are exposed.”
Do you know the Preamble for your state?
Texas 1845, Preamble: “We the People of the Republic of Texas, acknowledging, with gratitude, the grace and beneficence of God.”
After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong! (Please note that at no time is anyone told that they MUST worship God.)

Thanks to Alan for the following contribution:
January 22, 2009, marks the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. In 1973, the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton court decisions legalized abortion on demand in America. Since then, women have been able to legally terminate their pregnancies through all nine months for any reason. However, on April 18, 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court finally upheld the Partial-Birth Abortion Act. This was a monumental step for the Pro-Life movement.
Chuck Colson of BreakPoint commented, “It took thirty-four years to get from Roe v. Wade to the first significant restriction of so-called ‘abortion rights.’ It’s a reminder that when it comes to eradicating social ills, we must never give up.” He went on to compare this victory with British Parliamentarian William Wilberforce’s victory in slowing the British slave trade. His victory came when he was able to pass legislation in 1788 that restricted the number of slaves that a ship was allowed to carry based on the ship’s tonnage.
This victory, although small, proved that the slave trade was vulnerable, just as our victory against partial-birth abortion proves that the abortion indu stry is vulnerable. Mr. Wilberforce, after almost 20 years of fighting, was eventually successful in abolishing the slave trade. Twenty-five years after that, slavery was abolished all together. We too—with patience, hard work, and diligence—eventually will be successful in abolishing the practice of abortion
According to the most recent abortion records at The Alan Guttmacher Institute (the research branch of Planned Parenthood), 1.206 million abortions were reported in 2005. This was a decrease from 1.222 million in 2004. Unfortunately, the government does not require that abortions be reported; therefore, truly accurate numbers on abortion are not available. While the national abortion numbers are dropping slightly, so many lives, including women and their unborn children, still need protection.
The abortion numbers in Texas have decreased by about 2% from 79,041 in 2006 to 77,811 in 2007. The reduction in abortions shows how hard our Pro-Life citizens have been working to educate pregnant girls, women, and their families. We pray that the 81st Legislative session will be successful in helping to pass legislation that will continue to spread the Culture of Life across Texas.
Currently, Texas is the 4th most Pro-Life state in the country, according to the 2008 Americans United for Life National Pro-Life State Analysis. These rankings are based on our Pro-Life legislature, public assistance to pregnant women, as well as the Pro-Life legisla tion that has been enacted.

I listened to a testimony from Carol Everett, author of Blood Money, who was on TBN that will send chills down your spine. My reason for sharing this testimony is because knowledge is a tool we can use in our fight to save innocent children.
The woman began by telling the audience that she had had an abortion when she was younger. She knew after she had the abortion that what she had done was wrong. Her guilt overwhelmed her. She decided that she would get other women to have abortions to try to ease her own guilt. So she went to work at an abortion clinic. She realized the abortion industry was a money making industry and her goal became to make a million dollars.
Preying upon young girls between the ages of 13 to 18, she got the best doctor at the clinic to open up his own practice with her and she worked hard to reach her goal to make as much money as she could. She purposely gave young girls a low dose pill that she knew would not work if they did not take the pill at the same exact time everyday. Or if they missed just one pill that they could become pregnant. She would wait for their call, knowing that eventually they would become pregnant. She would have the girl come in and her staff would work on their goal to get her to have an abortion. If others in the office could not convince the young girl then she was sent directly to her and she would seal the deal, so to speak.
She was so driven to make money that it didn’t matter to her that she was killing babies to make that money. One day a man came into the clinic to offer them a financial strategy. The man said he could help them if they would meet with him for four hours a week. Eager to make more money she agreed. It didn’t take her too long to realize that he was not a financial advisor but a pastor. He told her he was sent by God to take one person out of that clinic. She laughed and thought of who she thought that one person might be (not thinking it was her, of course). She was always in control of things and never overtaken by anyone. One day the man asked her to pray a simple prayer and to try to get rid of him she prayed the prayer. The prayer was to accept Jesus Christ into her life. After saying the prayer she walked off and laughed. Ha! He can’t change me. Little did she know that everything was about to change for her.
Her heart was convicted. Her abortion business got caught giving abortions to young girls who were not even pregnant and they were shut down. One day she sat and read a passage in the Bible and realized that she had murdered 35,000 babies. From that day forward her life was changed. She now tells her story so that others can see just how evil the abortion industry is. It is a money making industry and innocent children are it’s victims.

Another contribution from Christina.
Life begins at conception through the miracle that it is. Love is not divided but is brought together to exist. It is essential that all children of God be born and protected. It is God’s way.
Conception is the beginning of the intentions of God. It is a blessing for which God bestows upon you.
Conception is God’s promise that love exists through him and through you. What greater miracle is there than birth. It is dynamic in all its glorious potential.
The miracle of conception is God’s intention to bless you with his love; the pure innocence of a child. Your flesh, his flesh, as one. Your soul, his soul, as one.
A child’s eyes are those of goodness and hope for the world. Every child brings joy into the world with an innocent smile that warms the heart.

Cathy shares a post-abortive experience which occurred last Saturday @ Planned Parenthood.
A post-abortive woman named Nichole came and talked to me and some of the others on the sidewalk. We gave her information and encouraged her to call for help – and we all encircled her and prayed together right there on the sidewalk. I don’t know if I said the right words in that prayer. I guess only God knows the heart and the Spirit speaks.
It is so rare that a post-abortive woman actually comes over. She was in shock, and we could see that she was physically and mentally hurting. Looking back, I wonder if I could have helped more. Could I have offered to take her for coffee…or give her a ride somewhere…or just be with her longer? Sigh. We do what we can do and what comes to us at the time. Please pray for her. She is heavy in my heart right now.
Others came and got flyers and info – one mom with 2 other kids yelled at me. We all prayed for her, too.
It was great to see so many people out there praying today. There were several whole families who came to pray. One little boy asked his mom, “Why aren’t they in jail if they kill children?” There it is. The truth from a child about children. Seeing so many families becoming active leads me to think that doing the spring 40 Days Campaign is the right idea. You were right when you said – United We Stand.
Thanks to Cathy for her caring and sharing. Lets not forget the mothers of aborted children and pray for their reconciliation and healing. As another resource being added to our side bar of Life Links, here’s AfterAbortion.Org

On what ended up being a strange and emotional day, we had an estimated 22 abortions for the 1st abortion day of 2009 . The day, which started with a strange fog that continuously ebbed and flowed throughout the morning hours, brought with it an unusually high amount of Planned Parenthood consumers who chose to share their stories and emotions.
There was a gentleman who asked us what we would do if one of our daughters were raped. He was informed that despite the theory of an abortion some how helping rape victims, it has been shown that abortion actually adds to the trauma of the rape.
There was a mother who brought her daughter to Planned Parenthood to get “a pill”, because she was “only” 4 weeks pregnant. The mother opposed surgical abortions and considered them morally wrong, but believed RU-486 was like taking a contraceptive, not an abortion. She spent a good deal of time with our side walk counselors who shared information on the stages of child development and RU-486 abortions.
A gentleman spent time with several of our counselors explaining how his wife, who came from a family with 19 children, demanded getting her 4th abortion so she could complete medical school. Initially this man was argumentative and oppositional with our counselors, but ended up crying about his wife’s decision to abort and took the information offered to him.
So many different stories and reasons for abortion, all of which took precedence over the right to life of the most innocent of all human beings. We have more stories and video interviews to share for a different time. God bless all of you who support the pro-life efforts any way you can.
We are adding the testimony of Christina who goes into much more detail of the above events, as well as providing a personal testimony of why she chooses to go out to the sidewalk of Planned Parenthood.
Saturday was a rough day but the hope that maybe, just maybe we saved one baby keeps me going. I had an extensive conversation with a mother, who’s daughter was in the clinic. She told me how she regretted having an abortion years ago. She was very young and afraid to tell her mother. I could relate, as I have a young daughter, who faced the same situation. Thankfully, despite my daughter’s fear she chose to have her baby. The result is our beautiful grandson who we absolutely adore.
I pleaded with the mother at the sidewalk, to the point of begging her to go in and get her daughter. I told her that was her grandchild that her daughter was carrying. She had a very important question for me, “When does “it” become a baby?” Thankfully, Amber was there to tell her the baby (at four weeks) already had a heartbeat. She was taken back by this and it really made her think about what was truly happening. I pray that my words and Amber’s words touched this mother. I pray that her daughter will choose not to take the “abortion pill”. I pray that it wasn’t too late to save this young women’s child.
Another challenge my husband and I faced that day was with a young man who had brought a rape victim to the clinic. He came straight to me and asked, “How would you feel if someone violently raped someone you care about?” I told him my daughter was sexually assaulted and I understood that she was in pain. I showed him a picture of my daughter and my grandson. His tone changed from anger to curiosity. I talked with him about my daughter. I told him how much my daughter loves her son and that each day she wakes up and is thankful for him. Despite all of the pain she suffered she would do it all again to have her beautiful son. I continued on and kept his attention. My husband added in that we were not there to judge but to speak for the babies who’s voices can’t be heard. He explained to him that each child is a miracle and blessing from God.
By the end of our conversation with this young man I explained to him that the young woman who was having the abortion would need help. I gave him a pamphlet about Post Abortion Syndrome and he eagerly took it. I told him her pain would not be over because the pregnancy was terminated. I told him that she would feel a great loss and an emptiness. I informed him of some of the symptoms of post abortion syndrome and asked him to please make sure she got counseling. So I pray that this young man will get her the help that she will need. It would be a tragedy if two lives were destroyed.
Please pray for these young people and always remember to keep your hearts open to hear the pain that others are suffering. Compassion should be a priority when dealing with others. Each of us has our own testimonies and that is why God has put us on the Babcock sidewalk. We are fulfilling God’s purpose for us. To show others of his unconditional love.
Thanks to Christina for her selfless efforts for the unborn and their parents on Saturday.

A contribution from Amy, founder and current director of San Antonio Coalition for Life:
As we near the date of our Lord’s birth I feel compelled to write about the choice that His mother, Mary made, We see in the bible the story of the prostitute near death by stoning. She was a sinner who had chosen a path that did not lead to heaven. The people of her town had chosen to punish her for her crimes. It is Jesus who steps in to save this woman, not only from the stones that were so near to being hurled at her, but He also saves her from herself. He looks on her with pity and says to the crowd of angry townspeople those beautiful words “let the one who has no sin throw the first stone”. Jesus then looks to her and says “Go and sin no more”.
You can’t help but wonder that as He looked at that woman, shamed by her path and full of sin, that he did not think about the danger His own mother was in upon accepting the Lord’s plan for her life. Mary was a sinless woman, even saved from the stain of original sin, and yet it was very likely that she could be stoned to death at the announcement of her pregnancy. When the angel Gabriel came to announce God’s plan to Mary she was given a choice, as we all are, to choose a path. She decided to follow the path that the Lord had set out for her, knowing what the implications to her life might be. Mary did not know what the future would hold for her, especially after Joseph decided to quietly divorce her, but she did not run out and seek an abortion (and yes, they did exist even in those days). She still trusted that the Lord would provide what she needed. Again the angel Gabriel comes in to view and Joseph marries Mary to provide our Lord with the wonderful family that is needed to nurture his growth and strength.
Each day, women become pregnant unexpectedly. They are given a choice of two paths, one that leads to what God has chosen for their lives and one that leads to abortion. We have to remember that these same women have already chosen a path of sexual activity that lead to pregnancy- but given the choice that has been made it is important that we be there to help them find their way back to the path that leads to God. I have spent a lot of time lately talking to my boys about the two paths. I use it often as a way of steering them in the right way to behave. I tell them “You have a path to choose at this moment- you can choose the path that leads to a happy and fun day- or you can choose the path that leads to punishment for disobeying”. They invariably look at me and say “I want to go on the path that leads to good things”.
We all want to be on the path that leads to good things. When we get lost and fall away from the path, God puts people in our lives to help us find our way back. There are two paths in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic. There is one that leads to the sidewalk counselors, there to help with whatever a woman needs to continue her pregnancy, and one that leads in to the building for an abortion. God has helped to put the sidewalk counselors in the path of these scared women, to help them back on the path to heaven. Sadly many women are blinded by the tree’s blocking their view from the “angels” waiting to help them. How often does our Lord cry at the thought of so many of his children choosing the path of disobedience? How often does He weep at the thought of the life, meant for so much good in this world that has been lost to abortion? How many children, meant to cure cancer or AIDS or find a way to power an entire city on water alone, have been lost because their mother chose the wrong path?
Yet, as many of these women choose the follow the wrong path, there are a few who find their way back. We have been blessed to see 27 of these women choose the path that leads to heaven. They step in to the unknown- trusting that God will provide- and He does! We are blessed to be there as prayer warriors and sidewalk counselor- working for God to end abortion through our prayers and presence. How blessed are we to be his vessels! As a sidewalk counselor we ask the Holy Spirit to speak through us as we talk to the women going in for abortions. We hope and pray that the words that come from our mouths are coming directly from God- not words of anger pointing out the sins of others- but words of love and compassion. We pray that the Lord uses us to help just one more woman to find her way to the path to heaven- bringing with her the innocent child that God has planned for this world. We hope that just one woman will “Go and sin no more”.

Please read a comment left by, in my opinion, one of the most faithful pro-life individuals in the city of San Antonio. If anyone has the excuse of not having enough time it could be Cathy – yet she is always out there on the sidewalk. Many times through out this last year – by her self. If anyone has spent anytime alone on the sidewalk, they know how daunting a task this can be. That is to say nothing of everything else she does for “life”, that may go unnoticed and unappreciated.
There are some days that are much harder than others, and Cathy shares one of these days with us . Please pray for Cathy and for others like her that do so much to protect innocent life and healing for those in most need.
Today was a hard day for me at the Babcock sidewalk. I spoke to a man who was holding a woman closely as they came out of the clinic. She looked so hurt – so devastated. I spoke as kindly and softly as I could to offer post-abortion materials. The man turned to me in anger and said that their baby had died – they did not abort it. They very much wanted this child. I tried to tell him how sorry I was for them and that we would be praying for them and that we were only trying to help. I don’t think he could really hear me. He said we should be careful of what we say to people and that I should get away from them. I have been in sorrow for this couple all day long, and I ask for your prayers for their healing and their grief. Here is yet another reason why we need to speak tenderly to one another. We have not walked in their shoes – we cannot understand their pain and situation – but we can pray and we can be a voice of kindness and compassion.
There were several post-abortive men who spoke rudley in their pain and anger today. There were people from the donut shop who yelled pro-choice slogans. But there were a few who stopped and listened to the counselors and took information. For these, I am grateful.
David Bereit sent a note today with the blog address for 40 Days showing the photo of a child saved from last year’s campaign. I really needed to see that today. What a beautiful gift. It is worth all the standing a praying if even just one child – one mother, or one father – is saved.
May God’s blessings be yours.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.

Contribution from Alan:
On Saturday Nov 22, I was leaving the PP sidewalk about 8:00 AM. I said good-bye to Frank, a fellow counselor, right in front of the “Entrance” sign and stepped into the entrance area – still on the sidewalk. A car, driven by a young man, was turning left from Babcock. I saw him turn left so I stopped. He turned to drive into the PP parking lot – swerved toward me with his car and I stepped back. He turned straight and entered the parking lot, stopped at the front door to let a lady off. I looked at the entrance area and he had plenty of room to enter the parking lot without swerving toward me.
I noticed he parked near the exit of the parking lot after dropping off his lady, so I moved quickly down to sidewalk to talk to him. When he got out of his car, I asked him if he was mad at me or his situation. I asked him to come talk to me so I can help whatever he is angry at. He simply yelled to get out of the way next time and went into the PP building.
Jeff was gracious enough to give me his license plate #. I prayed about this — what good would I do to bring charges? I believe no civil challenge against his anger with a vehicle swerving toward me could be worse than the part he took in destroying an innocent life. I will continue to pray for this man and all who enter the PP parking lot with anger and defiance against the truth they know in their heart. We MUST continue to Pray, do Penance, and have Presence at the PP to witness to the truth and speak for the innocent lives who do not have a voice to speak for themselves.
May God bless the merciful.

Dear friends,
On December 10th, radical pro-abortion groups will present petitions asking the
UN General Assembly to make abortion a universally recognized human right.
We have met the challenge and you can help.
We have initiated a petition drive that calls for governments to interpret the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as protecting the unborn child from abortion. Along with a coalition of pro-life groups from around the world, we will present our petitions at a press conference at UN headquarters.
So far, in only three weeks we have generated 46,417 names endorsing our petition; that is 15,000 a week! I now fully expect that we will present 100,000 names on December 10th, the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In order for this to happen, though, I need your help and I need it now.
If you have not signed the petition, do so now … by going directly to http://www.c-fam.org and click on the icon “UN Petition for the Unborn Child,” located on the right hand side of the screen. Then, scroll down and sign the petition, send this email or one of your own to ALL OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
If you have already signed the petition, send this email or one of your own to ALL OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS and urge them to sign it.
What we are trying to do is create a real global internet campaign that will shock the pro-abortion radicals at the UN on December 10th!
To help you, the petition has been translated into 11 different languages and each can be found … by going to http://www.c-fam.org
Yours sincerely,
Austin Ruse
President
C-FAM
PS We absolutely must submit more names to the UN than the pro-abortion radicals. They are bigger, richer and stronger than we are. So, act now! Please send this message to all of your friends

From Karen Klotz
There are two bills that are in their first stage. We all need to be diligent about contacting Senator John Cornyn, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Speaker of the House, Tom Craddick. Also, anyone else that might be in your district that could help.
Bill #1 would require all doctors to perform an ultrasound and show their pregnant patients the living organs inside of their babies AND they would have to let the mother listen to the babies heartbeat. AMEN!!!
Bill #2 Issuance of “Choose Life” license plates and the creation of the CHOOSE LIFE account in the general revenue fund in TEXAS! AMEN!!!! This bill would be solely for the purpose of serving women who choose life. It will also help women who choose adoption. It will also help provide clothes, diapers, whatever needed to women who need assistance. It is Bill HB 109.
We need to let all of our legislators know that we want these passed. We have to speak for these unborn children and this is one way to do so among others.
Karen wants to urge us to read up on and to sign a petition against the Freedom of Choice Act, saying that it’s very important to get as many people as you can to sign the petition against it.

stone cold heart
November 14, 2008 · 2 Comments
The following experience is being shared by Kenneth Maes after he and his wife participated for the first time at the Babcock Clinic. Kenneth has a blog called Pensanientos.
Today, my wife and I volunteered to stand with others in front of an abortion clinic and not only show our support for Life but to also pray for those entering the clinic. This was our first experience as we have been very moved by the videos that I have shared with you recently.
We hadn’t been there five minutes and a lady in her forties approached my wife with tears in her eyes and said that she had an abortion when she was fifteen years old and to this very day she has never ceased in thinking about what she did and how she regretted that decision.
It is so sad that she has had this experience and it makes you wonder how many others have gone through the same thing. It also made me think of something else, while we were standing right in front of the clinic I realized that just about fifty feet away, behind those doors, lives were being taken. You cannot imagine the chill and the goosebumps I felt throughout my body.
Then I thought of the man who wants to be president whose mother chose to keep and because of her unselfish act he is where he is today, running for the most powerful office in the land. How then, could this man have such a stone cold heart that he would support and condone the murder of innocent lives?
This does not make a bit of sense to me. May God have mercy on his soul as well as all who support this holocaust!
