getting involved

From Karen Klotz

There are two bills that are in their first stage.  We all need to be diligent about contacting Senator John Cornyn, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Speaker of the House, Tom Craddick. Also, anyone else that might be in your district that could help.

Bill #1 would require all doctors to perform an ultrasound and show their pregnant patients the living organs inside of their babies AND they would have to let the mother listen to the babies heartbeat. AMEN!!!

Bill #2 Issuance of “Choose Life” license plates and the creation of the CHOOSE LIFE account in the general revenue fund in TEXAS!  AMEN!!!! This bill would be solely for the purpose of serving women who choose life. It will also help women who choose adoption. It will also help provide clothes, diapers, whatever needed to women who need assistance. It is Bill HB 109.

We need to let all of our legislators know that we want these passed. We have to speak for these unborn children and this is one way to do so among others.

Karen wants to urge us to read up on and to sign a petition against the Freedom of Choice Act, saying that it’s very important to get as many people as you can to sign the petition against it.

One response to “getting involved

  1. The Blog item that refers to “Bill #1” is a really bad idea. It forces three things upon a person who is not charged or suspected of a crime, though abortion is morally wrong.

First, forcing any medical procedure (Ultra Sound) no matter how non-invasive it may be is wrong. Think back to when the government sterilized people without their consent. This argument does present some interesting viewpoints though. For instance a child needs a medical procedure to save it’s life but the parents refuse based on religious grounds. In Virginia the court found in favor of the parents.

Second, forcing someone to view something you want them to view, that they do not want to view, is wrong. This opens the door to forcing you to see things you do not want to see because someone else thinks you need to see it.

Finally, forcing someone to listen to something they do not want to listen to is wrong.

Abortion is morally wrong. You need a license to perform abortions not a license to get one. Would I prefer the doctor MUST offer a free Ultra Sound, YES. Would I prefer the Doctor MUST offer to allow the mother to hear the heartbeat, YES.
