Abortion Statistics for Bexar County

According to the 2000 census, Bexar county is the 4th largest county in Texas, making up approximately 6.6% of the state’s population; unfortunately, in 2007 we were also responsible for almost 10% of the state’s total abortions.

In 2007, our county performed 7,372 abortions which ranked 3rd in the state. The 2007 abortion numbers were down only 1% from 2006, which was incidentally the worst year for abortions in the previous 5 years (2002).

Women between the age of 15 – 30 were responsible for 75% of the total abortions in Bexar county, with over 35% of this subgroup being between the ages of 20 – 24, women between 25 – 29 years old were responsible for almost 27% of the total abortions.

For the years 2002 – 2005, over 20% (1 in 5)  pregnancies in Bexar county ended with abortion.

The next abortion day is this Saturday, cars start arriving around 7am.

More to come later.

  1. Wow! That is staggering and shamefull. We need to pray more that God will touch the hearts of women thinking of terminating innocent lives.
